When I was a child, we didn’t generally get bought stuff all the time. Birthdays and Christmas of course, but not all the time.
Little things were treasured.
However, when we went on a trip, we always got a little souvenir.
My thing was badges. I collected all that came my way. Freebies mainly, promoting products now long-discontinued.
I still have a tin full of them. I used to get them out and arrange them, or count them, or even wear them. But not for a long while.
I sorted through them at the weekend. What to do with them now?
I’ve pinned my travel souvenirs onto an old cushion cover.
The rest are still awaiting their resurrection. Any ideas for repurposing are welcome.

Why not emulate the Pearly Kings and Queens and crowd them onto a garment in a pattern of some sort?

I used to wear them on a hat as a child, but I’m not sure I could carry it off these days!
I love that you’ve kept these from childhood! How about framing them? You could stick them to a heavy card and arrange in groups/colours? x
Hmmm, yes, that’s definitely a possibility!
That cushion looks really sweet – what a lovely thing to have!
Thank you! Perhaps less comfy to lounge on now though!
I made a bunch of magnets out of some old campaign buttons. But… that does ruin them as badges.
Its good to put things to use though! I much prefer making them into something useful, then I don’t have to feel guilty about hanging onto things!
Love the cushion, nice to use old sentimental objects rather than store them away. What about spelling out your son’s name with them and framing them for his bedroom wall? Have fun deciding what to do with them.
