happy fabric day

I’m so glad that Rachel enjoyed receiving my birthday fabric parcel.

Definitely a tradition to continue!

I popped in a bit of mini bunting, for luck.

You can read more on her lovely blog, My Rainbow Vintage Home, here.

I’ll be ferreting through my fabrics again today, so I’ll be jolly happy!

I hope you all have a happy fabric day, too.

all wrapped up…

…and ready to go.

My scalloped bunting packs.

Each one has two metres of yummy vintage cotton fabric goodness.

Each one is unique.

Ten pretty petal-shaped modflower flags for your bedroom, kitchen, party table or bookshelf.

Contact me if you’d like one – they’re just £15 each plus postage!

thrifty

I went to run a few errands at the local shops yesterday.

Passing the florist, I coveted the beautiful display outside… But I had to be sensible.

There are only so many pretty things that can be afforded.

Some, however, can come for free.

When I got home, I picked thrift for my kitchen table.

I also found that the sun had coaxed out the first flowers in my hanging basket.

The wonders of having a garden.

pretty thing of the week

I have always  been a bit disappointed by my iPhone 3GS.

It promised much, but delivered much less.

The coverage is poor, the internet is teeth-grindingly slow, the screen is frustratingly small.

My partner has an iPhone 4, which works a lot better.

I’m tempted to upgrade, not only to make me less likely to want to stamp on my phone out of frustration, but also because I would have a reason to purchase one of these very cute and practical cases.

Designed by Glasgow-based Clare Nicolson, these get to the heart of what the iPhone is about.

That is, something pretty to whip out of your handbag. Which, I sometimes feel, is all my phone is fit for.

Give me girly tech – but please make it work!

By the way, if you don’t have an iPhone, you can also buy Clare’s lovely designs as prints or cushions.

Perfect if you’re more of a low-tech kinda girl.

Or you’ve just stamped on your phone.

friday bunting

I have been sewing scalloped bunting flags.

In the heat.

They will be turned into lovely long strings to list in my Etsy shop and sell in Lu-Lou’s.

But it is nearly time for the weekend.

My partner will be back from a week-long conference.

We will be together again over the weekend, the three of us.

Some things are more important than sewing.
