Frankly, they’re a bit naff, aren’t they?
A bit pub garden. A bit Lynda Snell.
But they do do a wonderful job of distracting the eye from the wheelybins in our side return, when you look out of the window.
So, for that reason, I plant up a couple every year.
The time has arrived.
With the surfeit of patriotism this summer I’m going for a change from my usual blue and white.
Bright pink and purple.
Little Calibrachoa (like petunias, but with teeny-tiny flowers) in this colour:
deep purple trailing geranium, like this:
and a bit of contrasting pale variegated greenery. Keep it simple, but splashy.
The bins will be all but invisible.
