I happened to admire the floral fabric in this pincushion the other day. A potential partner for some of my large scale florals, I thought.
So I asked what it was.
Flower Garden, by Sevenberry Fabric, came the reply. But alas, I could find no trace of it on sale.
So lovely Georgina, maker of the pretty pincushion that prompted my query, and sender of my surprise present in the post, offered to send me some of her stash!
I am always amazed and delighted by the sudden generosity of strangers.
It makes me feel very smiley indeed.
And as I like to do as I would be done by, a swap seemed only sensible…
Petite pieces of patchwork-perfect prettiness were pressed and put aside.
A mainly small-scale selection of bits and bobs – for button-covering or stitching.
I hope they suit.
It is said that it is better to give than to receive.
They’re both pretty fine if you ask me!
Here’s what I just received…
I’ve had so much more fun selecting a scrappy swap than I would have by simply shopping!
And guess what – as an added bonus Georgina has sent me enough of her Sevenberry fabric to back a cushion.
I’m a bit speechless!

some great people around
they look awesome

I can’t wait to see you finished cushion! I’m going to make some covered buttons this afternoon with my lovely stash.
I hope we’ll get to see the results on your blog!
See? It’s not a bad world out there – lots of lovely people with lovely ideas and lovely skills.
