As you will know, I am a big fan of pattern.
Florals in particular.
I like to layer pattern upon pattern.
And accompany it with another pattern.
Or two.
But these two quilts inspired me in a different way.
They are certainly patterned.
But their solid colours and geometric designs create a purity of form that adding more pattern would spoil.
Pure gorgeousness.

I know exactly what you mean! Collecting quilt images on Pinterest has made me start to lust after plain solid colour fabric – I still love all my patterns, and enjoy putting them together, but something about how you can make a pattern by piecing plain colours is really refreshing and exciting!
My thoughts exactly! Alas, I possess very little plain fabric (other than white) so experimentation will have to wait for a future fabric investment.
I love the top photo. Is it one of your own quilts? If it is, please tell us more about it. Actually, either way, please tell us more about it.
I wish it were one of mine! I temporarily lost the source, but thanks to this handy little gadget that allows you to find the source of an image, I have now found it again.
The quilt is called Simply Solids and was made by Film in the Fridge. You can read more about it here.
Thanks for that. I’ll go check it out.
