Since acquiring my French souvenir I have been taking a little look-see at other things vintage and French.
And hence I discovered the wonders of Arcopal.
A bit like French Pyrex, Arcopal is not actually ceramic, but white, break-proof, tempered glass, five times stronger than china.
More to the point, it exists in some fabulous funky floral patterns.
I vaguely recognise the next one. I’m sure my mum had a plate in this Scania design, lurking within the depths of a kitchen cupboard, at some point during my childhood. I wonder what became of it?
If we weren’t already more than fully equipped in the crockery department, I could foresee another obsession brewing…

love it! is it 70s, do you know? looks 70s funky to me.
I believe these patterns are from the 1970s, yes! I also came across a few more “chintzy” Arcopal floral patterns, which looked more 1980s to me.
