A couple of weeks ago I received the happy news that a friend’s baby has arrived.
A girl! Hopefully, I’ll get to meet her on Friday!
Since I heard the news I have been keeping my thrifty eyes open for nice things to add to a gift parcel.
I mentioned the baby bonnet I bought at the vintage fair last weekend… well, it has been renovated.
The last few evenings have been spent hand-stitching a new lining of softer-than-soft white cotton. It is cut from the back of a vintage pillowcase.
I have also tidied up the trim to ensure that there are no loose threads for little fingers to get caught in.
I turned out the whole of my “dumping cupboard” (don’t ask!) to find my antique lace stash – but in the end decided not to add any after all.
I think the bonnet is quite pretty enough as it is.
I also found some other thrifty goodies – the little top and cardi pictured above, perfect for colder days.
A lovely little frock:
As you may spot from the label, it’s designer!
I also have a small pile of baby-gro’s and vests, in the prettiest patterns:

a very sweet bonnet and altogether a lovely loving bundle!
What a perfect little bundle, very lucky baby! Aa
Beautiful baby gift … just perfect .. Bee xx
What a thoughtful and thoroughly lovely gift.
