I promised yesterday to post more about what is going into those little drawstring bags I was making.
So here is the current flock of birdie brooches, all ready to fly.
The wooden settings are hand carved from mahogany offcuts by a talented craftsperson.
The fabrics used for their plumage are all genuine vintage.
Each birdie brooch comes with a full-colour modflowers mini-card (more on those later!) nestling in its own handmade drawstring bag.
If none of these birdies take your fancy, I am currently waiting for more brooch settings to arrive.
So there will be a second flock.
The next ones will have pale sycamore wood surrounds, so will be perhaps even more Scandi in feel.
And later still there will be some new woods, including cherry, maple and walnut.
I’m loving making them!
Each one is truly unique.
If you would like one of the above birdie brooches, drop me a line and I can set up a custom listing for you in my shop.
Each brooch costs £15 plus postage.
The remainder of the flock will go on sale in the shop over the next few days.
Some will be made for my stall in December, so if you are in Nottingham you will be able to see them in person.
How exciting!

Hi there! How much are the birdie brooches?
Oh sorry, I forgot to say! They are £15 plus postage.
Thank you!

I will put a countdown to the event in the sidebar of the blog. The dates are 1st and 2nd December, but I’m still waiting for confirmation!
