a will of iron

I do enjoy a good browse on eBay.

Even when I have absolutely no intention of buying anything.

I am pretty strong willed.  When I put my mind to it I can resist almost anything. Honestly.

No, really!

To prove it, these are all things I haven’t bid on recently.

See? I told you I had a will of iron.

That and a lack of spare cash :)

  1. Yes, you are very strong-willed. I shall now be trawling ebay for all those lovely things…as I am completely spineless!!! ;) x

  2. We were just saying last night that ebay was such fun to buy and sell with, but now it is so corporate that we have almost given up. We have some mid 20th century furniture we are going to sell there soon but may then depart ebay for good.

    • Oh no, why? What’s happened? I have had a few bad experiences and prices have definitely shot up, but I still think there are some amazing things to be found on there and the occasional superb bargain keeps me coming back.

  3. Well done you! I have also been very restrained/skint recently, but I find I have to just not look when I really can’t afford to buy anything. I’m lucky enough to have a whole tea set in that Midwinter pattern, it was in a local charity shop and a lovely group of friends clubbed together and bought it for me. Don’t ever buy that red flowery fabric in the top collage, cause I’ve got enough in my stash to spare….those lamps though, wowzers! And don’t even get me started on the temptations of Cathrineholm….xxx

    • That’s lovely of your friends! Will we get to see pictures?
The blue lamp went for £90, would you believe! And the Cathrineholm always sells for silly money too.
If you fancy doing a swap for some of that red fabric. let me know… :)

      • I’m always up for swaps! I’d be more than happy to send you a bit big enough for a cushion cover, I bought a pair of curtains a while ago because I needed more reds for my rainbow patchwork. It’s a tad faded but still really lovely. Yes I must take photos of my tea set, it was such a lovely present…the light in my house is terrible so taking photos of ceramics always seems like such a faff, I have to take them out into the garden! xx
