pretty thing of the week

I have always  been a bit disappointed by my iPhone 3GS.

It promised much, but delivered much less.

The coverage is poor, the internet is teeth-grindingly slow, the screen is frustratingly small.

My partner has an iPhone 4, which works a lot better.

I’m tempted to upgrade, not only to make me less likely to want to stamp on my phone out of frustration, but also because I would have a reason to purchase one of these very cute and practical cases.

Designed by Glasgow-based Clare Nicolson, these get to the heart of what the iPhone is about.

That is, something pretty to whip out of your handbag. Which, I sometimes feel, is all my phone is fit for.

Give me girly tech – but please make it work!

By the way, if you don’t have an iPhone, you can also buy Clare’s lovely designs as prints or cushions.

Perfect if you’re more of a low-tech kinda girl.

Or you’ve just stamped on your phone.

There’s definitely something a bit sexy about combining the very modern with the very retro.

Which is exactly what’s going on with these iPad sleeves by EllaOsix.

Made in a stunning collection of vintage fabrics, the patterns and colours are just amazing.

So amazing in fact that I’m tempted to permanently “borrow” lad’s iPad (I know! He has an indulgent grandad) just as an excuse to buy one!
